Hi, I’m Alvin.

@alvinyjkim

It all started with a small point-and-shoot camera that I was gifted for Christmas in middle school.

About Alvin

Alvin grew up in Glendale, California—

Upon graduating from high school, Alvin went on to play football at a university in the Midwest. Alvin ultimately transferred to Texas Tech and studied engineering and business where his photography business quickly took off with the rise of social media.

Alvin has had the pleasure of working with thousands of clients from Olympic medalists and international personalities, to household-name brands and artists, and enjoys connecting with clients from different walks of life.

After years of testament to his passion for media production and social media, Alvin founded Billionmonsters, a digital presence agency, to provide modern day brands and companies with culturally-relevant marketing strategies in media production, social media management, and UGCs.

Before Professional Photography

While finishing his business degree at Texas Tech, Alvin was heavily involved in the Innovation & Entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Many startup accelerators and pitch competitions led Alvin to being named Stanford University's Innovation Fellow. Ultimately, Alvin had the opportunity of winning numerous federal grants for commercialization research opportunities that let him dive deeper into Market Research and Customer Discoveries for startups and new ventures. Such background has tremendously helped Alvin when consulting his digital media clients.

Alvin briefly held a corporate career in cyber security engineering before transitioning to photography full-time. One of the roles that Alvin held is working for the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, protecting over 1.3 million patients and ensuring that their health records and equipment are secured from malicious hackers.

When not shooting or editing, Alvin can be found riding his motorcycle down PCH or lifting at the gym.
